Composer Matteo Fargion and choreographer Jonathan Burrows share a two day workshop looking at questions of how to balance the many and overlapping elements at play in the making of a performance, including concept, context, image, form, dramaturgy, materials and daily practice. The workshop will be a mixture of practical work and discussion, with the aim of allowing each person to re-examine how they approach their own work. The days will be split with Fargion spending the mornings on composition and Burrows looking at more dramaturgical issues in the afternoons.
The two artists have been collaborators for over thirty years, building a body of work which straddles the line between dance, music, performance art and comedy. Their work has drawn an international following for its integrity, openness and independent stance.
