Contemporary Floor Work

This workshop combines elements of contemporary dance technique and improvisation. The focus is on the floor, as an important supporting element, almost like a partner. We will experiment with gravity and actively seek contact with the floor - and practice holding as well as letting go.

In the training, the own dance repertoire is to be expanded and the possibilities refined to move fluently with and on the floor. How can we encounter the floor as a dance partner? How do I use the energy that it gives me? By sometimes melting into the floor, then falling again, or pushing off of it powerfully and dynamically, we explore the different qualities of movement offered by the ground on which we stand and walk every day.

Previous dance experience is recommended for participation.
