The fabrik JugendTanzCompany has been selected for the 2026 Tanztreffen der Jugend in Berlin, where it will present its latest dance production, ‘Find no words to say’, on 1 October 2026 at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
The Tanztreffen der Jugend is one of the most important festivals for young dance companies in Germany. This year, over 60 productions from across Germany applied to take part. Following a preliminary selection by a panel of experts, 10 ensembles were chosen for the final round – including the fabrik JugendTanzCompany. From 26 September to 2 October 2026, the selected groups will present their work at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
The fabrik JugendTanzCompany is a project run by fabrik Potsdam, aimed at young, advanced dancers aged between 14 and 20. Founded as part of fabrik Potsdam’s wider programme, the company offers young talents the opportunity to engage intensively with contemporary dance, improvisation and choreography. Under the direction of Giulia Del Balzi, the members train weekly and develop their own stage pieces. Since its foundation in 2023, this has resulted in three dance productions as well as short dance interventions in public spaces. The training is complemented by workshops with international and local dancers and choreographers. The JugendTanzCompany is not only a place for artistic development, but also a platform for exchange with professional artists. Members regularly attend performances at the fabrik and engage in dialogue with local and international guests.
“Find no words to say” is the latest production by the JugendTanzCompany. The performance explores the power of the body as a means of expression that goes far beyond language. Sometimes words simply aren’t enough – whether out of joy, anger, overwhelming emotions or a deep sense of connection. In such moments, the body becomes a voice, and dance becomes a language that is heard and understood. The choreography was created in collaboration with the company’s young dancers and is accompanied by live music.
The production premiered in March 2026 at the fabrik Potsdam as part of the ‘Junge Stücke’ evening and has already been performed as a guest contribution at the 11th Brandenburg State School Theatre Festival (24–26 June 2026) in Potsdam.
As well as taking part in the Youth Dance Festival, the JugendTanzCompany 2026 is involved in other projects:
- On 17 May 2026, the company presented the short performance ‘White Horses’ at the Barberini Museum in Potsdam, directed by choreographer Adi Weinberg.
- The JugendTanzCompany’s next performance in Potsdam will take place as part of the RARE BIRDS music festival on Saturday 5 December 2026. In collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Ibrahima Ndiaye, as well as the musicians Joel Grip and Hogir Göregen, the company will present a dance performance on stage at the fabrik Potsdam, incorporating elements of improvisation.
