The focus of the choreographic works of the six HZT students this year is interaction with passers-by, spectators, and residents – their movements in urban space and their bodies in presence. The choreographers explore the status of the de-socialised individual beings and technically interwoven users that we have become.
Orbit
Mariana Romagnani
Pavillon Freundschaftsinsel
Wed 11 May 2022 | 5:30 p.m. + 9:30 p.m.
Care creates an orbit, a path of bodies that revolve around one another. This orbit articulates something about who we are, about how we unfold through relationships. In Orbit the boundaries between together and apart, guiding and being guided, holding on and letting go, inside and outside, turn into an ambiguous interlacing. A dance emerges from what is in between, in the magic of unpredicted rearrangements and co-matterings.

Two dancers and a musician question the fragmenta- tion of physicality and embodiment in our times.

All objects in the universe are made up of tiny particles that constantly undergo endless changes. During the performance one tries to steal a real moment of change, as it takes place, stretching and immersing time into a different perception. It opens up – while the sun goes down – at an intense look on the permanent transformation of bodies and surroundings.
pleasure_in_the_breaking
Leonie Naomi Baur
T-Werk / Probebühne
Fri 20 May 2022 | 6:00 p.m.
Sat 21 May 2022 | 6:00 p.m.
pleasure_in_the_breaking guides the audience into a space, a world, where an everyday chaos becomes tangible from an artificial distance and at the same time from microscopic proximity. Fine lines are drawn between apparent order and continuous deviation. Stability emerges and disintegrates in a restless investigation of the ephemeral. The piece invites the audience to become part of this space of movement, sound, light, and projection and to co-create one's own experience in it.
