After the cancellation of both performances in February 2022, the fabrik Potsdam presents the new productions by Maren Strack and Golde Grunske in a double bill evening.
Frauen am Herd by Maren Strack in collaboration with Johan Lorbeer (premiere)
The cooking show begins – there is Racuchy, polish mushroom pancakes. In her new piece, Maren Strack is less concerned with preparing meals than with kitchen utensils themselves. The performer wears a red apron dress to which the neatly sorted kitchen utensils just stick. A dance interplay between the utensils, the costume and the body is created. Gravity seems to be suspended, the appliances develop a life of their own, fly, hit each other, set the dance rhythm – from pianissimo to heavy metal. In a clanging kitchen sound room, she herself mutates into a grotesque cooking-appliance sculpture. She searches for the parmesan and plays on the sounding cheese grater.
Con.takt.los by Golde Grunske / tanzkompanie Golde G.
Four dancers move pulsatingly in a very confined space and yet keep their distance. Driven by the electronic music, the bodies are tense, full of energy but always trying not to touch each other. Con.takt.los is a look into the recent past that reaches into the present. Golde Grunske deals with the physical and psychological effects of the pandemic-related restrictions on contact. How has everyday life changed? Do people become more sensitive, more attentive, more cautious or do they become lonely without physical contact? Golde Grunske approaches her fellow human beings herself. In conversations over the last few months, she has tried to feel the pulse of society and in this play she shows the way to newfound freedom.
