Let Me Change Your Name

Eun-Me Ahn (Seoul)

24 May 2019 | Potsdamer Tanztage 2019Dance / performance

Oscillating colors, powerful energy, virtuoso dance and humorous movement language characterize the pieces of Eun-Me Ahn. In Let Me Change Your Name, the South Korean choreographer, who is currently associated artist of Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, questions the identity and the place of the individual in modern society by playing with role reversal and contrasts. Between darkness and bright lights, black and white and brightly colored costumes, ritual and fashion show, the movement prevails, repetitive, sometimes hypnotic to the point of trance. Eun-Me Ahn witnesses with a wink the liveliness and creativity of the contemporary Korean dance scene.
