nur aNders deliver again what they were already said to be before their 20-year break – one of the most energetic shows in the city. With plenty of live experience, they blast a wall of versatile, hard, German-language music out of the speakers from the very first bar. And they have evolved. The top-heavy independent rock of the early 2000s has become a mature and dynamic post-indie-core with borrowings from post-rock and metal core. After such a long break, nur aNders made their comeback in January 2024 with a concert at Spirale Wilmersdorf – the place where it all began again. Older tracks like loch im wasser and haNdle voN grau and brand new songs like moshpit or ohNe eiN erbe got the packed hall moshing. New material is due to be recorded this year. The journey began 25 years ago in the south of Berlin. First prizes in jury and public voting at the ‘99 up-and-coming band competition organised by Berlin radio station Star FM were immediate proof of the persuasive power of their material. By playing constantly in the country's clubs, they managed to record their debut album zwoelf morgeNstuNdeN on their own in Potsdam's LoFi studios and present it at an extremely successful release show in Potsdam's Waschhaus. This was followed by three extensive tours through Germany and as far afield as Austria. In 2002, nur aNders contributed the song leicht to the sampler komm aus'm arsch. This was followed in 2004 by a multi-layered EP with the title track aus der leere, which was only released to the public on Spotify two years ago after the band went out of business.
