La Probabilité du Néant

Eight dancers come and go on stage, facing the audience, but isolated in their compulsive obsessions. Little by little, hip hop captures the bodies, channels the emotions and gives a common language to these individuals who sail together on the musical waves of DJ, composer, and hip hop producer Shash'U. In her new production, Alexandra 'Spicey' Landé, a major figure in hip hop dance in Quebec, blithely transgresses the limits of genres in a show that oscillates between street dance, shadow and light effects, contemporary dance and theatre. Continuing this exploration of the human psyche, with this work Spicey explores the Bystander Effect. Is a witness an observer or an accomplice? The choreographer blurs the lines and perspectives depending on which eye is watching. With its incisive dance, La Probabilité du Néant questions our perceptions, our judgements, and the consequences of our choices. In the strange possibilities of our own self-destruction, it also reminds us of our luminous capacity for resistance and resilience.
