This course aims to combine two different styles that have very different origins: Contemporary and Jazz Dance. We will play with weight and gravity, move fluently and dynamically and use improvisation to reconnect with our body. We will explore new ways of movement known in contemporary dance, while also working on techniques and forms common in jazz dance. This means a lot of isolation and dance in connection with the music and the transition between the two styles, combining them into exercises and choreographies. I will lead through a warm-up to prepare our body and build strength. We will learn various exercises to improve technique and alignment. Study the steps and jumps that are also used in our choreography. The last part of the lesson focuses on the choreography and leaves room for cool-down and stretching at the end.
