Grand Season Opening 2026

Bodies tell stories.

11 – 12 Sep 2026

The new season at fabrik Potsdam begins with a circle. In Ceren Orean’s dance solo Shard, the circle formed by the audience around the dancer becomes both a safe space and a boundary – and opens a programme that conceives of the body as a place of memory, experience and encounter...

On 11 and 12 September, fabrik Potsdam opens its season with a weekend full of dance, performance, workshops and music. The centrepiece is Shard by Ceren Oran & Moving Borders (Munich), a powerful dance solo about trauma, compassion and community. The programme continues on Saturday with the workshop Spielraumerweiterung, the open-air premiere of Shifting Architectures by Roberta Ricci & Gábor Hartyáni, and a concert by the Berlin swing band Savoy Satellites in the fabrikgarten.

A look ahead to the season

With international guest performances and productions from Potsdam, the new season highlights perspectives that shape our present: personal and political history in Zurück zu Ali by Jenny Beyer, new forms of masculinity in the world premiere WG Neumann by Laura Heinecke & Company, and the traces of ageing in In My Body by the Canadian street dancer Crazy Smooth. An unmissable highlight is the European premiere by the Australian circus company Circa with North of Now, suitable for the whole family.

Dance for young audiences will be featured in four productions: Hero (14+), Ritournelles (3+), Karkerou (6+) and the world premiere of the new fabrik production The Language of Stone (3+).
On the music front, alongside the JazzLab series, the release concert by Pulsar Trio and the Rare Birds festival are particularly worth noting.

We look forward to welcoming you – for moving moments and shared experiences!
