Based on movement material from their latest production Entre Deux and the previous work Assemblage, Camille and Stevie from 101concrete Kompagnie will introduce various principles of partnering and acrobatic elements and explore them with the participants.
In the workshop we will move alone and with partners and expand our freedom of movement in different directions, rotations and heights. All participants will have the opportunity to explore these three areas according to their abilities. In doing so, they playfully experience more freedom of movement and confidence in moving with others and alone. For the majority of the exercises, we will use partners as support to get into positions that are not or not yet possible alone.
We follow three concepts:
- weight shift - the temporary shifting of your own weight, for example between your feet and hands or onto someone else
- shared weight - sharing weight equally with another person: e.g. counterbalance or leaning against each other
- weightless - temporary weightlessness through the complete transfer of weight to another person or jumps
Camille and Stevie are both part of the 101concrete company from Potsdam. In their work, the group searches for artistic forms of expression of the movement form Art du Déplacement/Parkour and combines these with elements of contemporary dance, partnering and new circus, among others.
Entre Deux is their first joint duet. The audience follows them in an acrobatic dance as they explore their possibilities, embrace opportunities, test their limits and balance their desires. They transform a table tennis table in a public space into their 360-degree stage.
