How does movement shape memory? How does the voice extend the body? How do images capture traces of dance?
This workshop continues the research from EMBODIED EXPRESSION, expanding into voice and video documentation as tools for movement improvisation. Using Body-Mind
Centering® and instant composition, we explore how movement leaves resonances in
space, sound, and image.
We will work with:
• Improvisation with movement and voice, letting sound emerge from motion
• Video as a tool for capturing and reflecting on movement
• Interplay between landscape, memory, and composition
• Collective and individual improvisation, expanding awareness between self and
group
Through guided tasks and open explorations, we will create and document ephemeral
moments, shaping movement into sensory experience.
Who is it for?
Open to participants of EMBODIED EXPRESSION or those with interest in movement, voice, and interdisciplinary improvisation.
Practical Information:
• Please bring comfortable clothes for movement, a notebook, and layered clothing
for outdoor practice.
• Portions of the workshop will take place outside—please dress accordingly.
• We will have a lunch break, participants are welcome to bring their own food
