No jazz festival is complete without a jam session!
JazzLab is an interactive concert format featuring an open stage, which has been held regularly at die fabrik since 2013. The aim is to create a space for encounters that transcend genre boundaries and foster creative exchange between musicians, dancers and performers.
The common language of the evening is improvisation; the Lab stage becomes a playground! The opening concert is a ‘blind date’ between three musicians meeting here for the very first time: saxophonist Dan Kinzelman, who will have previously appeared in the performance KUDOKU; trumpeter Eivind Lonning, who will have previously played in the piece TIDE; and pianist Nicolas Schulze.
