Fragments of the Future breaks down the present into bodies, desire and rituals. Water, earth, apples and a chair become unstable symbols of an eerie landscape. The familiar loses its function; bodies are thrown out of order. Love meets loss; faith meets violence.
Through fragmented, repeated and reassembled movements, the body becomes a site of rupture and transformation. Reality does not appear as a fixed order, but as something that is constantly shifting. New connections emerge from this disintegration. What remains when memory, identity and desire lose their stability? The Oxymoron Dance Company combines dance, performance, music and visual art to create hybrid stage worlds. At the heart of their international work lie the contradictions of our present and the body as a seismograph of personal and societal change.
