A PROJECT OF DUDENDANCE (HUNTLY) AND FABRIK POTSDAM IN COOPERATION WITH KAMMERCHOR CHORISMA AND BEATMENTS DANCE COMPANY (NEURUPPIN), SONG TRIO TRIPPLE (HUNTLY) AND FABIANE GALANTE.
AFTER A COSTUME DESIGN BY HEATHER MACCRIMMON
White figures move ghostly through the landscape. They evoke memories of figures, music and longings of a past century... Together with the Beatments Dance Company and the chamber choir Chorisma from Neuruppin, the Scottish singer trio Tripple and dancers from Potsdam, the Company Dudendance makes impressions of Fontane's Scottish journey in dance and music tangible in its open-air performance Die Lady Schritt Zum Schloss Hinan (The Lady walked up to the castle...). Landscape, history and especially the rich English and Scottish ballad culture had a multi-layered effect on Fontane's work. The inspiration for one of his most important works "Die Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg" (The Wanderings through the Mark Brandenburg) goes back directly to his trip to Scotland and the travel diary "Jenseit des Tweed" (Beyond the Tweed) which was written there. This performance series at unique places of cultural history draws on the lyrical work, the Brandenburg landscape and historical architecture and stages them in conjunction with Fontane's central themes such as lost love, death, mourning and ephemerality.
