Pulsar Trio (Potsdam)

Release concert

20 Nov 2026Concert

don chi chi – that is the title of the sixth album by the band Pulsar Trio, due for release in November 2026, which will be celebrated on the main stage at fabrik Potsdam. This extraordinary instrumental trio – comprising sitar, piano and drums – has been instinctively exploring uncharted musical territory for almost 20 years, moving like a single organism along a fine line; with their virtuoso, high-energy playing, they transport the audience into their dazzling Pulsar cosmos. Wolter’s virtuoso sitar artistry has sent some of the most beautiful Pulsar melodies out into the ether, which are further developed by Wein’s brilliant harmonic and contrapuntal work and transported to other realms by Christ’s sensitive percussion. The album title pays homage to their first tour mascot, the iconic sitar hamster from 2007, whilst the syllable ‘chi’ is also part of the complex hand movements involved in classical sitar playing. In the title track, don chi chi, all those who know and love the trio will immediately be struck by that familiar, cosy feeling.
