North of Now

Seven bodies, one bare stage, seventy minutes of wonder. CIRCA is one of the world’s leading performing arts companies. Since 2004, the ensemble has been based in Brisbane while touring internationally and captivating audiences in more than 45 countries across six continents. With North of Now, the company comes to fabrik Potsdam for the World premiere of its latest creation.

Directed by visionary Yaron Lifschitz, North of Now strips contemporary circus back to its essentials: the weight of one person held entirely in another’s hands, and the breathless uncertainty of whether the catch will come in time. Inspired by poet Paul Celan’s words "In the rivers north of the future, I cast the net”, the performance unfolds in a space where hope persists beyond time. In a world that refuses to stand still, seven bodies search for balance and transcendence through the ordinary miracle of holding each other up.
