Petites Pièces

Leïla Ka (Saint-Nazaire)

05 – 06 Jun 2026 | Potsdamer Tanztage 2026Dance / performance

Leïla Ka is a rising star of the young French dance scene. Her works have been performed internationally over 300 times, making her one of the most successful French choreographers of her generation. She began her career as a dancer in May B. by Maguy Marin before developing her own works. With Petites Pièces, Leïla Ka presents three short pieces that embody her distinctive energy and the break of women with social norms.

In the solo Pode Ser, a dancer traverses an inner landscape of tensions and contradictions. Moving between raw gestures and sudden impulses, the piece explores the difficulty of truly being oneself. In Bouffées, five women stand facing the audience, their cheeks wet with tears – grief spreads, transforms, and becomes a source of collective strength. In You’re the One We Love, two figures move together through falls, breakthroughs, and resistance. Fragile yet powerful, they celebrate that persistent energy that keeps us standing.
