The Underworld invites young audiences into a world that unfolds beneath school desks: a dreamscape where spaces and bodies transform and profound changes can take place. On an ordinary day, the teacher, Ms. Kreutzer, enters the classroom—but everything is strangely different. Is this still a game, or has it all become real? Can new people, creatures, or even entire continents emerge—and is this still the world I thought I knew?
With great imagination and a love for movement, the ensemble embarks on a journey through light and darkness alongside its young audience—crossing many boundaries and sparking dreams. Because only together, with courage and imagination, can we overcome fear and discover new worlds.
The Underworld is choreographer Anna Nowicka’s first production for young audiences, in which she brings together her choreographic work and her research into dreams.
