A young man stands alone on stage. No words, no set – only the body speaks. In Solo for Boy, a quiet, intense portrait unfolds from this simplicity. How do white, Western-influenced male bodies move? What historical images of male beauty do we carry within us?
Sasha Amaya draws inspiration from visual traditions in art history and fashion from 1800 to the present day. Between grace and tension, control and release, the dancer pushes his boundaries. From sensuality and tenderness to excess – a multifaceted portrait full of contradictions emerges. Solo for Boy offers a poetic and at the same time political perspective on masculinity, identity, and desire.
