LEIB – What does a body desire?

Initially shrouded in darkness, LEIB – What does a body desire? unfolds an acoustic experience of crackling and soft sounds that fill the room. Gradually, a fireplace appears in the light and the stage becomes a place of sensual, poetic evocation. With voice, music, objects, and movement, it is not a spirit that is conjured up, but the body itself – as the first space of feeling and encounter.

Cuatro X Cuatro is known for its innovative works that are deeply rooted in social contexts. This first part of their trilogy is about opening up a new unfolding for the body. The body is perceived as a collective voice that speaks to nature, dreams, the night, and the sun. Dance becomes a space in which another world is possible – or at least a way of experiencing and understanding this world. LEIB is a sign for all those who have disappeared to find their way home again.

With Global Bodies, fabrik Potsdam opens its doors to the perspectives and artistic expressions of dance from around the world. The guest performance series focuses on thematic and geographical aspects – always rooted in body, movement and identity. Pulsating rhythms, political choreographies or poetic imagery reveal dance as a universal language that connects people and addresses contemporary issues. The invited artists bring not only their pieces but also their backgrounds and movement philosophies, inviting the audience to engage and connect.
