To mark the 50th anniversary of Pina Bausch's ground-breaking choreography, the festival is once again inviting audiences to this unique immersive piece. The audience experiences the very special opportunity of finding themselves in the centre of a choreography.
Somewhere between theatre, dance, performance, and workshop, Roger Bernat's production inspires with its astonishing intensity and gripping power. Equipped with headphones, the audience listens to the music. Suddenly, some turn away resolutely, walk to a table, others move to a new location, while still others simply observe. Together, they bring Pina Bausch's legendary choreography from 1975 back to life. The proximity of the music, the immediate presence of the action, and the constant decision to follow the instructions or to sit back and watch open up a whole new perspective on the “Sacre”. A collective dance dream and a true sacrifice of spring.
