Tanz Weit Draußen is touring three professional dance productions through the three-state region of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein in November.
The three productions for young audiences are pop-up pieces for spaces outside the theatre. They can be shown anywhere and without great effort, especially in places where dance art has rarely or never been seen before. The special thing about them is that the artists take liberties, change perspectives and thus change people's everyday lives for a few moments. Classrooms, club rooms, churches, village squares, community halls or traffic islands are places that local people think they know inside out. The performances transform them - into spaces with magic and sometimes with completely new rules.
The touring format at schools offers input for everyone: for children and young people, for the travelling dance artists and mediators, and for local dance professionals and cultural politicians. The performances - especially participatory formats such as pop-ups or classroom pieces - are framed by workshop menus, introductions and talks.
