Two women step onto the impeccably white stage, exchanging whispers, smiles, and then begin to move to the serial music of Coti K. Gradually, more dancers join the gracefully rhythmic motion, unfolding a meticulously choreographed force. In Mellowing, choreographer Christos Papadopoulos explores the interplay of stillness and vitality, revealing a serene yet energized body. Together with the dancers of the Dance On Ensembles he explores moments of intensity that create a lively restlessness, in which the spectator is inevitably involved. The Dance On Ensemble was founded in 2015 and celebrates the artistic excellence of dancers over 40. It collaborates with internationally renowned choreographers and directors, including Rabih Mroué, Lucinda Childs, Meg Stuart, and Jan Martens. Mellowing by Christos Papadopoulos is among the twelve nationally selected dance productions for the German Dance Platform 2024.
