Ears to see (8+)

With audio description | Lea Moro (Berlin/Zürich)

13 – 14 Oct 2023 | Explore dance – Dance for young audience Young dance

Imagine you are in an urban environment, a city. Your senses are like sensitive antennae. You use them to sniff the humid air, feel musty soil, and rummage through thorny thickets. Your ears are pricked up, and they listen to the urban underground. Who lives there in the ground, in tunnels and canals? The city is a habitat for many creatures, animals, and plants. And we are always right in the middle of it. Together with the artists and a series of creatures that speak for themselves, the audience embarks on a polyphonic audio journey in and around the theater. A sophisticated orientation system for a blind and visually impaired audience allows them to move independently through the performance. Ohren Sehen proposes listening as a mode of responsible, cooperative coexistence with our environment. The performance will take place in all weather conditions, we ask that you bring appropriate clothing.

Accessibility: The performance has an integrated audio description and auditory guidance system. The audience is mostly guided outside the theatre. The route taken will be over grass, cobblestones, single steps and tarmac. There will be longer phases where standing is required. The audience will be asked to close their eyes and walk along a rope. The audience will receive instructions through headphones, which will not be translated into DGS or easy language.

On Fri 13 Oct 2023, 10h: optional with additional audio description (please bring your own headphones and report to the box office on the day of the performance).
The Haptic Tour starts at 9h30.
