tanzkompanie golde g. (Cottbus)

21 May 2025 | Potsdamer Tanztage 2025Dance / performance

A church as a stage, live music from an organ, and a dance duet – Cottbus-native choreographer Golde Grunske always looks for unusual settings for her work. She has already presented her productions on market squares, in museums, on bridges, and in factory halls. Her choreographies focus on themes such as home, identity, and the history of her region.

Her latest production broaches the complex aspects of living together as a couple. The question arises again and again: How can we treat each other with respect and communicate with each other? Set to music ranging from J.S. Bach to Arvo Pärt, the piece illuminates profoundly human experiences such as distance, closeness, trust, security, weightlessness, and inner turmoil. The sacred space of the church, combined with the powerful sound of the organ, lends the duet a unique and deeply moving atmosphere.
