Artistic statement is based on the principles of stand-up comedy and the speeches of politicians. How does an idea come about, be it political or artistic? How does an artist position himself in a polarised society in which every contradiction becomes a conflict? From a sociological and artistic perspective, the project looks at the construction of a rebellious state while addressing the softness and violence that occur when we choose to be vulnerable. The stage is set up like a prison, a ‘huis clos’, where self-sacrifice becomes a duty and where ruptures from within and without open up the radicalisation of intimacy. Through improvised language, punk rock music and sensual movements, the research attempts to narrate the deep tenderness of a humanised and sensitive body. Portrait of an artist in mutation.
