Sudden Starlings Collective (Werder/Berlin)

INDESSEN was filmed in the indoor swimming pool of the former School 5/POS Juri Gagarin in Eisenhüttenstadt. Two dancers dive into the dry pool, board the sets and clear the room. Rudolf Grunemann's tile mosaic is enthroned above the pool.

Created with the support of Tanzinitiative Brandenburg.

Lost in Formation (2023, 30 min.)
A film about a dance piece
KOMBINAT combines dance and film (Potsdam)

Lost in Formation premiered at the fabrik Potsdam in 2019. But what is presented on stage is like the tip of an iceberg – just the small part of performance art. Many rehearsals make up the rest. The film Lost in Formation tells the story of the whole mountain of dance work without words. The film uses recordings of rehearsals, filming and performances without regard to spatial or temporal continuity. What interests the film is the diversity of dance rituals in every corner of the world and repetition as an action that creates realities.

With accompanying discussion with Sirko Knüpfer & Paula E. Paul
