SIXTH RENDEZVOUS WITH BMC® - LEARNING, TEACHING AND EMPOWERING THROUGH MOVEMENT
MOVING THOUGHT: THE HIDDEN CHOREOGRAPHY IN OUR LIVES
Trude Cone discovered BMC® more than 25 years ago as a methode to facilitate her sons development, who has the Angelman Syndrom. Later as the director of the Dance Departements of the Amsterdam University of the Arts she intergrated BMC® into the curriculum an thereby helped the method to spread in Europe. She is currently developing „Moving Thought“: a combination of bodywork and rhythmical excercises are applied to stimulate the connection of movement and thinking.
Her work is grounded in in the research on early movement patterns. When emerging they simultaneously build our alphabet of movement vocabulary and form the base for thought and decision-making processes throughout the lifetime.
This Workshop focuses on three stages expectant pathways of movement:
1.Embryological forces build the body
2.Uterine primitive reflexes activate movements allowing for flexibility and ease later
3.After birth, developmental movement patterns enable interactions to become increasingly independent
The goal is to restart static processes either by waking up, revisiting early patterns or completing development. Reactivating these sequences at any age can improve the quality of life.
Workshop participants will experience these early movement patterns, their contribution to embodiment and usefulness in communication, organization, planning and creating environments.
The Rendezvous with BMC® are a continuing education forum for teachers, therapists, parents and everyone interested in experiential learning.

ADVANCED TRAINING FORUM
Ulrike Dillo and Odile Seitz have been working with Body-Mind-Centering® (BMC®) for many years in Berlin and internationally. They are practitioners of the method and have integrated it into their individual practice, in particular in the fields of Physiotherapy, Meditation, Dance education, choreography and Bodywork.
The idea for the training series “Rendezvous with BMC” originates from a desire to establish an interdisciplinary forum for exchange, which focuses on the principles of the BMC as a professional tool.
They want to create a place for the professional exchange between BMC and the educational, therapeutic and artistic fields and warmly invite experienced BMC professionals to attend.
Ulrike Dillo began her training as a physiotherapist 25 years ago. She took a break from her professional occupation and during this time she lived in a Zen monastery and devoted herself solely to the monastic practice. The traditional forms of sitting meditation, walking meditation and reciting and everyday monastic practice have played a decisive role in her work. At the same time she began her Body-Mind Centering studies 15 years ago and holds her certificate as a BMC teacher since 2012. Besides therapeutic work with individual people, at the moment she is also developing a format for teaching groups in which she familiarises the patients with the principles of BMC. By means of partner and group work the participants learn to give each other support and develop individual exercises for everyday life. Ulrike Dillo works in BMC-training and takes a special interest in interexchange with people who practise any Body-Mind disciplines like yoga, martial arts, chi gong, the performing arts, among others.
Odile Seitz is a dancer, choreographer, dance educator, practitioner for Body-Mind Centering and Cranio-sacral therapist. She teaches in Berlin at Fabrik Potsdam, at the universities for dance and choreography in Berlin, Stockholm as well as at the Centre National de la Danse in lyon and at various dance festivals. She has worked for several years in liaison with the choreographer, Frederic Gies, Frederic De Carlo and most recently with Annick Pütz. At the moment they are performing their latest Duett "ffflo" together and are also offering a workshop on the body as fluid matter, as well as a video installation.
She is developing coaching work for pregnant women and midwives with an emphasis on the subject of "bonding" as well as for sportsmen/sportswomen and dancers in the area of prevention and rehabilitation with the methods of BMC and Cranio-sacral therapy.
Odile is in the office of the American association of Body-Mind Centering BMCA.
With friendly support by fabrik Potsdam.
